Meet The Team
Dr. Allen S. Goldey:
Dr. Allen S. Goldey was born in Atlanta and grew up near Daytona Beach, Florida. As a child, he was always interested in becoming a dentist, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and uncle. After graduating from Florida State University with a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, Dr. Goldey attended University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. During his time in dental school, he was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship through the U.S. Air Force (USAF). During this time, Dr. Goldey married Anya Freiman Goldey, a Maine native, and together they decided they planned to eventually settle in Maine.
After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 2003, Dr. Goldey began practicing dentistry in the USAF. As a Captain, he served our country at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, from 2003-2006. Lackland Air Force Base proved to be a great place to begin a dental career as it had the most dental specialists and advanced dental training programs in the USAF. This gave Dr. Goldey several hundred hours of post-graduate dental training in most dental specialties with direct supervision of complicated procedures. Dr. Goldey recently completed the Live Implant Training (84 PACE CE hours in dental implant placement).
Dr. Goldey is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics (AAIP), the Maine Dental Association (MDA), and is a past President of the Kennebec Valley Dental Society (KVDS, 2011-2014). He served on Maine Dental Association's Peer Review Committee from 2012-2015. Dr. Goldey also worked at the Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency by teaching young doctors about dental conditions. He has given back to his community by donating dental services and by offering educational presentations at local schools, daycare centers, and community events.
Dr. Goldey moved to Maine in 2006. He bought Lovejoy Dental Center shortly thereafter and has enjoyed working with the patients and staff in the Central Maine area. His wife, Anya, is self-employed as a grant program evaluator and consultant. Together they are the proud parents of two children, Samuel and Lilah. They live in the outskirts of Augusta. Away from the office, Dr. Goldey enjoys the outdoors, playing guitar, skiing, snowmobiling, car racing, traveling and spending time with his family in our beautiful state.
